Inspiration - the River

24 years and counting - that's how long I have lived in Port St. Lucie Florida. I will confess that I do not actually live on the St. Lucie River, but the river is such an integral part of our life here that it does not feel like a lie to title this blog "On the St. Lucie". My husband, an avid fisherman, first introduced me to the St. Lucie River in 1984 and along the way we have made some very nice acquaintances, including "Old Blue"...a friendly heron named by "Larry the Crab Man".  Old Blue came to know Larry via a crab dinner one day...and they've been friends ever since.  On this day Old Blue paid a visit to our boat:
